Our sense of touch is always there, in the background, underneath our consciousness, just as the history of days past lies under our feet. This piece invites you to experience art with your sense of touch by turning your attention downward. Please carefully walk on this artwork to fully experience it.

The wall ahead and on the left are covered in a tapestry extending from the floor up to a height of seven feet. The same distance is covered by translucent black fabric on the floor, forming three sides of a seven foot cube. The black background of the tapestry has flowing trails of thick white lines curving and arcing across the surface. The lines connect in four places along the edges of each face, making the curves flow into each other across the walls and floor.

The floor is covered with different kinds of media. There is white gravel, black rubber mulch, sphagnum moss, orange gravel, and sand. The media is covered with a shear translucent fabric. The pattern of the media on the floor is the same as the tapestries, with lines of sand visually connecting the sides together.
